In 1979, Ohr’s Fuel was purchased by James Vitali from it's original founder and friend, Andy Ohr. Through a marriage of Tuxis Coal & Oil of Meriden and Ohr's Fuel of Wallingford in 1984, Tuxis-Ohr’s Fuel was born. Tuxis-Ohr’s operates four distinct product lines; home heating fuel, service of heating and air conditioning, equipment installs and commercial fuels. Recently we have added Nelson Oil of Haddam and Edward S. Mull of Meriden, to our family. With over 5,000 customers and strong presence in Middlesex and New Haven counties, Tuxis-Ohr’s continues to excel in customer retention and satisfaction for over 30 years.

With over 80,000 gallons of heating oil storage, we provide our customers with a variety of cost saving plans including pre-pay programs, budget plans, neighborhood discounts, prompt pay discounts and senior citizen discounts. In addition, we participate with energy assistance programs through out the State of Connecticut.

With our own fleet of oil trucks and on-site storage, we have the highest quality of fuel when you need it. To ensure that your burner runs efficiently, our fuel in our main storage tank and in our trucks is treated with an additive called Oil Defense Technology ODT-20. This additive is specifically formulated to greatly improve the performance of your heating oil by cleaning and controlling fuel contaminants from tank to burner tip, inhibits the growth of tank sediment, safeguards against corrosives and provides fuel stability.
